Idaho Space Materials Announces Large-Scale Carbon Nanotube Manufacturing Without Metal Catalysts

This article says that U.S. company Idaho Space Materials has developed a method for manufacturing large volumes of highly pure single-walled carbon nanotubes without the use of metal catalysts. The article says that metal catalysts currently used in carbon nanotube production are environmentally hazardous and toxic and that removal of metal contamination is expensive and time consuming. The article says that this new process is “infinitely scalable to meet any consumer demand” and that the company will offer special pricing to educational and non-profit research institutions in order to support the commercialization of practical nanotechnology applications.
